And I've seen all I'll ever need

Welcome to the delightfully boring world of my blog here on this treasure-trove of hipsterness called Tumblr. I'm Heather (if you hadn't already guessed), and I'm a 20 year old Londoner currently not living in London because although that place looks nice on Sherlock and in films, it's not that pleasant to live in. I'm a final year student studying Geography at Keele, which is near Alton Towers...go look it up on Google Maps, it'll waste some time.
Yes, I'm a Muser...and I have been since 2003. So yes, I'm an oldie on here which is apparently quite rare. I don't really care though, it's too much effort to judge people. I like other bands too, though I'm too lazy to write them all down. I have a pretty eclectic music taste, ranging from symphonic metal to folk; I'm odd like that. Love loads of TV. Doctor Who, House, Game of Thrones, anything David Attenborough, Downton Abbey, most British Comedy, Community, Daria, The Big Bang Theory, Arrested Development, etc. I also love books, and just got into reading fantasy after going to through a phase of reading classics. I do love Harry Potter as well, though not the films so much. Oh God, films. Got criticised for neveer seeing films when I was younger, and I'm catching up now. I do love a good film, though I lean more towards period dramas.
Being a Geographer means you'll have a number of post of landscapes, maps and other earth science-y things. I'll also go all spazzy over it, so I'll apologise in advance. What else do I do? I knit, I play guitar (very badly), I'm shy...loads of things. I'll post anything I want, so deal with it.

Ginger and proud.
Muser and pwoud.
Myself and proud.
In a relationship and extremely happy, sorry about that. I'll avoid posting about him too much.
Did you really read all of this? NERD.

My collection of poorly made, extremely cheesy Sherlock valentines

Everyone I know in real life (all 2 of you):

Expect these from me.

Omfg.

If I got one of these, I would start planning a wedding that second.

Apologies in advance, my non-Sherlockian friends…

If I got one of these, oh boy.

I’m actually going to print one of these and give it to my friend.

Oh my god. I’m so ready for this.

Extreme Geology: The Giant’s Causeway, Ireland and Staffa, Scotland
→ Credit for photos: one, two, and three.

These amazing basalt columns cane be found on Staffa, Scotland, and Giant’s Causeway in Nothern Ireland. These geological structures formed from volcanic activity over 50 mya where the slow cooling of basalt creates the hexagonal columns you see today. The process which creates such stunning hexagonal columns is called “columnar jointing”; a process where the basalt rapidly cools from the outside towards the centre, causing it to contract and form these structures.
